ABSTRACT
The explosion of social media has led to a change in how libraries communicate with their clientele, by-passing old visions of library promotions and jumping straight to dynamic exchanges of information. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among social media use, perceived usefulness, user satisfaction, and library engagement by libraries. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data from 50 active library users. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and Pearson correlation in SPSS were used to analyses the responses. Results indicate that when libraries use social media, perceived usefulness of Libraries and user satisfaction are positively influenced, leading to better engagement with library resources and services. While recruiting through social media had a small direct effect on engagement, the findings demonstrate the significance of engaging with purposive, interactive content in engaging users. The results of this research offer practical implications for library managers to develop social media strategies and to enhance communication with the users.
